Q. Do you sell your miniatures
individually?
A. No NEVER. The miniatures
are sold only as packed. We have so
many miniatures in various scales
that selling individuals would be
a logistical impossibility. Some of the new ranges: Blue Moon; Old Glory
Second Edition; Sash and Saber and Jacdaw are sold in smaller packs
ranging from 2 to 10 miniatures depending upon what they are.
Q. Why are the packs so big?
A They are not. Your armies
are too small!. We tend not to think
in terms of individual miniatures
but UNITS
This is why we manage to make so many
variants at such a reasonable price.
Most of the "small-pack -fewer-variant"
companies- i.e. almost everyone else
have prices that work out at around
£1.50 per miniature or even more.
Our products can work out up to 50%
less expensive and are normally 20-30%
cheaper than many of our competitors.
The payoff for the variation and competitive
pricing are the slightly larger packs.
This enables decent sized high quality
armies for moderate outlay.
Q. Are all the miniatures in a
pack identical?
A. No Never. It simply is not
possible. The variants are packed
at random within the code. Then those
packs which include command have the
appropriate command figures added.
Normally think in terms of 3-5 variants
for regular troops, 5-10 for irregulars.
Cavalry tend to have the lower numbers
of variants but in addition get horse
variants. Also many ranges have head
variants in ADDITION to the body variants.
Check out the article "OLD GLORY
PACK CONTENTS" for more details.
Q What about Command Decision
15mm. WW2 and Modern Ranges. How are
they packed?
A. Tanks are in packs of 3
vehicles as are most trucks ,armoured
cars, etc. Some small items such as
Jeeps are in 4s or 6s. Guns tend to
be in 4s or 6s depending on how big
they are and how many pieces they
are in.
Infantry packs are 50 miniatures or
in the case of weapons 50 pieces -ie
weapons and crew in the same pack.
Q What about the new 10mm Ranges.
How are they packaged.
A Basic infantry come in 100s.
That is 20 strips of 5 figs per strip
in a single rank. Command packs and
Flank companies have 10 strips ie
50 figures. Skirmishers come as packs
of 50 individuals as do Artillery
crews. Cavalry are in 30s and mostly
have separate horses though Napoleonic
Lancers for instance are one-piece
castings. Model guns are in packs
of 12. Limbers, etc are in packs of
6 complete teams with appropriate
drivers.
Q Why don't you do DBA/M/R or
(insert name of rule set here) armies?
A We don't make our miniatures
specific to any set of rules- with
the possible exception of Command
Decision. We've always assumed our
customers prefer to work out their
own armies using their own brain.
There are simply too many sets of
rules out there for a real miniatures
company to do this so we don't.
Q Are your miniatures available
painted?
A Not "off the peg"
There are painters details on the
site - usually in the picture captions.
We can organise it done for you if
you wish but you will need to talk
to us to decide what you want. There
will be a charge for this service
of 10% of the cost of any painting
work that is done in addition to the
cost of the figures etc. We can also
organise Diorama building, Terrain
construction etc. Frankly all sorts
of stuff is possible but you need
to talk to us. As an example in the
past we have done work for the BBC
and the Armies of Borodino for a private
client. We can take the strain but
such a service does not come cheap.
One of the advantages of such a huge
range of miniatures is that you don't
have to spend hours searching around
for little tiny companies who might
do half a range before they go bust.
Its all here over 4500 packs of miniatures
in 6 different scales.
Q. Why isn't (insert name of pack
here) photographed?
A. Mainly because "Man
shall have only three score and ten
years to his span of life!!!!"
Remember that we have roughly 5000
products on the site and still growing
rather than the tens or few hundreds
of other compaies. At the moment we
have well over 1600 photographs of
painted miniatures on the site with
a steady trickle being constantly
added. As a rule we won't put pics
of unpainted stuff on this site -except
as pre-production in the "WORK
IN PROGRESS" column – though recently we have started to do so
because of demand so some ranges have pictures of unpainted castings.
Q. Why are the prices different
on the US website?
A This is simple. All the miniatures that are cast and packaged at
the US factory are then shipped across the Atlantic. Once they enter the
UK and EUROPE, VAT and import duty are levied by customs. There is
also the not inconsequential cost of transatlantic shipping. This would also
happen if you tried to buy direct from the USA..
Old Glory UK deals with all this for
you and still provides miniatures at
a very competitive price compared
with other companies.
Q I made an order and only received
part of it.
A Don't Worry. Because most of
the miniatures are actually cast in
the USA and sometimes I run out of stuff because people buy it there can
be a bit of a wait..
If your order is short a bag or two
it will be marked on your invoice/receipt
enclosed in your parcel. The missing
items will follow on as soon as more
supplies arrive. The same applies to Drabant Minitures of Moscow-
sometimes it takes a while if I run out of an item but you will get your
figures in the end.
If you wish you can always email or
phone to find out the status of missing
packs. There might be a bit of a wait
but you will get your stuff.
Currently we order from the USA at the end of each month. Normally
orders take 4 weeks or so to get here – sometimes a little less sometimes a
little more. It will depend on how busy the Yanks are! In theory the longest
you will wait i.e. – worst case scenario - is if an item goes out of stock a few
days after my monthly order has been sent - it cannot then be re-ordered until
next month so instead of a 3 - 4 week wait you might end up waiting 6 - 8
weeks. Wargamers are a funny lot, I can be sitting on stock for months then
all of a sudden a few chaps will clean me out of certain items. It’s no use at
all trying to predict what those items might be. We still normally have
several thousand packs in stock, about a quarter of a million little men.
A few ranges are now made in the UK. Lil’ Flyin’ Fokker Aircraft models,
the CDMOD and CDMV modern vehicle and Infantry ranges. All of the
Romanoff 40mm ranges – Greeks, Romans, 30years War/ECW and Wars of
the Roses. All of the Jacdaw ranges both 40mm and the 30mm; Lace Wars -
Austrian Succession 7 Years War range. In addition we also make a few of
the Sash and Saber 40mm items here.
Q Do I have to order through
the website?.
A/. No not if you don't want to .We
still take orders and do business
the Old Fashioned way as well. You
can phone us on 01207 283332 or send your order by letter or email.
We accept cheques in sterling,
Postal orders or I.M.O.s and of course PAYPAL . Of

shows we attend - look at the NEWS for

We will help if we can.
If you want more info phone us or
email us.
We will help if we can.
Q/. What about the Fantasy and
Horror ranges that are on the OLD
GLORY US website I can't find them
in the UK.
A/. We carry the full range of Blue Moon Manufacturing figures and other
stuff that we don’t normally carry as stock can always be specially ordered
for you. The procedure for this is easy
1/. Either email or telephone me with your order.
2/.I will then add this to my next order to the US factory - I order every
month at the end of each month. Normally orders take around 4 weeks to
arrive at my warehouse from the USA. Orders are then shipped out
asap.
3/. I will need a credit card number to guarantee the order as this”special
order” is not normally an item I carry as stock but nothing will be charged to
the card until the ordered item is in my hands to send to you.
Q. I'm looking for 15mm ranges
but can't find any on the site.
A/. You won't find them because they
ARE NOT THERE. OLD GLORY has not done
any 15mm ranges in the UK for over
8 YEARS. In the USA it's closer to
10 years. Oldglory15
is and has been a separate company
for that time. The pre-WW2 ranges
are owned by a company called 19th
century miniatures. All representations
should be made to them.
The only 15mm ranges we still carry
are the Command
Decision WW2, Vietnam
and Modern ranges of vehicles
and figures.
